MLB Rumors: Yasiel Puig, San Francisco Giants, near deal
Is Yasiel Puig headed to the San Francisco Giants? Many Los Angeles Dodgers fans may not want to hear that one of their former favorites could be heading to play with their arch enemy, however, it looks like a deal is in place.
Francys Romero tweeted on Sunday that the Puig is “very close to signing with the San Francisco Giants.”
The contract amount is unknown, but would have a one-year option. Both sides, Puig and Giants are waiting for MLB to clarify the return date of baseball to make the official agreement.
Many fans are scratching their head wondering why Puig is still on the market.
After six seasons in LA, Yasiel Puig played for both the Reds and Indians in 2019.
Now the 28-year-old Puig is currently a free agent that is looking for a home. If this report is correct, Puig will be back in Los Angeles in 2020 – as a member of the rival Giants!
In his 7-seasons, Puig has hit 132 home runs, driven in 417 RBI and has a career average of .277.
