Lions Matt Prater vs. Broncos Brandon McManus: The 2020 NFL Battle For Free Beer Is On
Detroit’s Matt Prater is one of, if not the best kicker in the NFL. Don’t tell that to Denver’s Brandon McManus – he has a different opinion. In what started as something fun between beer reps at Bud Light and the Broncos has now turned into a season-long battle for kicking supremacy.
How it started
The kicking battle all started when the Broncos tweeted that Bud Light would buy every person of drinking age in Denver a beer if McManus broke Prater’s all-time league record.
That was back on July 16. While it took Bud Light until today (July 23) to respond, it didn’t take Matt Prater long to chime in as he tweeted to the beer maker himself!
Prater responded by asking the King of Beers what they would do for the city of Detroit if he breaks his own record?
The response now has these two NFL greats prepared to square off in a season-long batttle.
No record will be needed for free beer
Detroit’s Matt Prater is the NFL’s record-holder for the longest made field goal in NFL history at 64 yards. Denver Broncos kicker Brandon McManus thinks he can and will beat that record.
Whether McManus beats it or not, free beer for either Denver or Detroit will be on the line in 2020.
It comes down to this. Whichever kicker finished the upcoming 2020 season with the longest made field goal will win his city free Bud Light.
No NFL record will be needed! Bud Light confirmed this offer today via Twitter.
Prater vs McManus 2020 is on – and a cities worth of free beer is on the line!
