NFL Odds Week 1: Odds, Schedule Matchups & ATS Best Bet Picks
Football is back! Week 1 of the 2020 NFL season is scheduled to get underway this Thursday when the defending Super Bowl champion Kansas City Chiefs host the Houston Texans.
Can Patrick Mahomes, Chiefs repeat as NFL champions?
At the tender age of 24, Patrick Mahomes heads into the 2020 NFL season on top of the football world. Coming off of a dramatic comeback win in Super Bowl 54 – which saw Mahomes lead the Chiefs to a 21-point 4th quarter outburst to complete Kansas City’s huge 31-20 come from behind win over San Francisco, Mahomes should once again be one of the best QB’s in the game this season.
While the Chiefs may have been the best team of 2019, they will be the first to tell you that last year is history. Now, it is time to do it again!
Week 1 may surprise
The 2020 season is going to be an interesting one to say the least. With COVID-19 bringing the world to a standstill, all four major sports in the US have seen dramatic changes.
When it comes to the NFL, Week 1 of the season usually follows a solid month of workouts and preseason games. This year, the first time these players hit the gridiron will be the first time they will be participating in live on-field contact versus an opponent.
That is something that hasn’t happened in pro football for decades.
While most NFL fans and fellow gamblers have a good idea of which teams should do well and which may falter, not facing live action before Week 1 is something gamblers need to take into consideration as one of the many key factors before throwing their hard-earned money down.
And speaking of fans, it is still up in the air in many cities if and when they will be allowed to attend games in person.
Week 1 is always a tough one in terms of selecting the ATS winners. Afterall, every year teams that weren’t predicted to do well surprise us and several favorites don’t live up to their expectations.
