NFL Comeback Player of the Year Odds 2020: Matt Stafford, Ben Roethlisberger Are On Our Radar

The NFL Comeback Player of the Year odds for the 2020 season have arrived. With a number of big names on the list, which player would you put your hard-earned money on to win the award? Here are a few we like early on.

Quarterbacks lead the way

Everyone knows that the most-watched player on the gridiron is the quarterback. After all, he runs the show.

With Cam Newton taking over for Tom Brady in New England, and Alex Smith ready to return in Washington, many gamblers believe that they could be in line to make some noise this fall.

The only problem is neither one has a lot of weapons on offense. Newton will take over a Patriots team in which even the most hardcore New England fan may require a program to recognize which players are on the field.

Smith on the other hand has a bit more to work with, but not much. A bigger question for Smith may be how healthy he really is.

After suffering a horrific leg injury back in 2018 that has required Smith to undergo 17 surgeries, he will now return to the NFL in 2020 without taking a preseason snap.

Sure practicing every day is great, but no matter how much NFL stars practice, it doesn’t duplicate the speed seen in live action.

That being said, here are our players that look good heading into Week 1.

Matt Stafford, Ben Roethlisberger look solid

Detroit’s Matt Stafford and Pittsburgh’s Ben Roethlisberger are front and center on our list to click this fall.

Stafford is going to have a ton of weapons to choose from in 2020. If the boys in Motown can stay healthy, the Lions may have the best offense in the NFC.

Yes, I said the best offense in the NFC.

With wideouts Kenny Golladay, Marvin Jones, and Danny Amendola teaming up with tight-ends Jesse James and rising star T. J. Hockenson, the sky is the limit for Stafford.

Add that to a trio of running backs that include first round draft pick D’Andre Swift, Kerryon Johnson and the emerging Bo Scarbrough, Stafford may finally have that running game he has dreamed of.

At +800, Stafford looks like a great selection for 2020 CBPOTY.

As for Big Ben, he reportedly has found the fountain of youth heading into year 17. The Pittsburgh-Gazette indicates that Roethlisberger’s arm strength is better than ever.

ā€œIā€™m pleasantly surprised how my arm strength has come back, maybe even better than it was before,ā€ Roethlisberger said on Thursday.

Like Stafford, Roethlisberger has playmakers around him – including JuJu Smith-Schuster.
