Elite Eight 2022: Can Anyone Stop St. Peter’s? Updated Schedule, NCAA Tournament Championship Odds, ATS Picks For Saturday, March 26

After another two days of NCAA Tournament action, the madness of March is down to the Elite Eight. The biggest story of the Sweet 16 round is once again St. Peter’s.

The Peacocks incredible run continued as they once again relished the underdog role by upsetting Purdue 67-64. Will we have more surprises in the round of eight? The way this tournament has unfolded, fans cannot dismiss anything!

Elite Eight surprises

On Thursday, two No. 1 seeded teams were sent packing! The Houston Cougars are one win away from playing in its second straight Final Four after their 72-60 victory over Arizona in an NCAA South Regional semifinal game Thursday night.

The red-hot Cougars (32-5) will now prepare to play the second-seeded Villanova Wildcats in the South Region final on Saturday in San Antonio. Home cooking may help the Cougars advance to the Final Four as this game will be played just about 2 hours from Houston’s homecourt.

The other No. 1 sent home was Gonzaga. The Zags were the overall No. 1 seed in the tourney and the Vegas favorites to win the 2022 title. That dream for the west coast powerhouse is over.

Arkansas, a 10 point underdog, played aggressively from the very first whistle right until the final buzzer as they took down the Bulldogs 74-68. Brackets are busting everywhere after this upset!

Other winners on Thursday included Villanova and Duke.

On Friday it was all about Cinderella. St. Peter’s miracle run toward the NCAA championship game lived to see another day following an upset of Purdue. The Peacocks once again we’re playing with house money – and they came through for the gamblers!

While they will be celebrating their success a bit on Saturday, you can bet that they will be focused on their upcoming game vs. North Carolina.
