Madden 21 Release Date Leaked? List Of Cover Athlete Odds Favor Lamar Jackson, Christian McCaffrey

Sports may be on hiatus due to the COVID-19 pandemic, but the video game world sleeps for no one. It appears that all of the Madden 21 info is about to be revealed – but in typical fashion, the info may have already been leaked online.

Madden 21 news hitting tomorrow

According to SGO, EA Sports will give gamers a first look at the new Madden 21 game on Monday, June 1. The report also indicates that EA Sports currently has a placeholder video on YouTube for the premiere of the release trailer.

The video that is set to hit the internet tomorrow had some interesting info in the description of the trailer. Interestingly enough, the description has since been deleted.

You can check out the deleted info in the video below.

It looks like the cat is out of the bag! Either way, fans of Madden can’t wait!

Which player can beat out Lamar Jackson?

Lamar Jackson becoming the next athlete to grace the cover of the Madden football series is one of the worst kept secrets around – at least that is what many fans believe.

Jackson did have an incredible 2019 season in which he passed for 3,127 yards and 36 touchdowns. The 23-year-old Jackson also rushed for 1,206 yards in 2019. Those numbers are, pardon the pun, very video game-like. This kid can do it all!

Fans will be shocked if Jackson is not named the cover athlete, as he is also listed as the heavy favorite to earn the honor. However, could any of the other top five contenders pull off an upset?

Here they are:

Nick Bosa, 49ers (+2400) — Bosa showed the world he is the real deal during his rookie season in San Francisco. Bosa recorded nine sacks, disrupted hundreds of plays on the ground and finished with a total 47 tackles (32 solo) all on the way to being named the 2019 AP Defensive Rookie of the Year.

Matt Stafford, Detroit (+2000) — If he had stayed healthy last season, the Lions could have possibly been a playoff contender and Stafford could have put up monster numbers. After Week 3 last season Stafford was on his way to being the favorite for the Madden honor, now it’s a long shot.

Michael Thomas, New Orleans (+1200) — Drew Brees is the only Saints player to grace the cover of Madden. Is Thomas next? Thomas set the record for most receptions in a single season with 149 last year. With that feat, he now holds the record for most receptions by a player through his first four seasons in the league with 470.

Christian McCaffrey, Carolina (+800) — The kid is insanely good. He’s fast, strong, and knows how to play the game the right way. In his first three seasons, McCaffrey has gained over 5,000 all-purpose yards and scored 39 touchdowns.

Lamar Jackson, Baltimore (-300) — As mentioned above, he does it all! At 23, this kid could shatter many NFL records.
