Madden 23 Cover Star Odds: Here’s Which NFL Players Might Get The Cover

The NFL 2021 season is winding down, with just several weeks remaining on the schedule. Before we know it, the playoffs will arrive and a Super Bowl champion will be crowned. An MVP will also be announced for the past season, along with other award winners. That means fans will start looking forward to the NFL Draft where new talent will arrive on rosters, and then towards Madden 23. Here are our unofficial Madden 23 cover star odds, months ahead of the game’s release.

Former cover stars include Mahomes, Brady, Jackson

The current version of EA’s football simulation game, Madden NFL 22, features a pair of cover stars. Super Bowl opponents Tom Brady of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Patrick Mahomes of the Kansas City Chiefs share the cover. That arrived several months after Brady picked up his seventh Super Bowl ring with a win as quarterback for his new team.

It was the second cover for both Brady and Mahomes. TB12 previously had the Madden 18 cover as a member of the New England Patriots.

Mahomes formerly graced the cover of the Madden 20 video game in 2019 and won the NFL’s MVP and Super Bowl after his season. He was followed by Baltimore Ravens phenom Lamar Jackson, who set league rushing records as a QB.

Below is a look at the last 10 cover stars for EA’s Madden video game:

  • Madden22: Brady/Mahomes
  • Madden21: Lamar Jackson (Ravens QB)
  • Madden20: Patrick Mahomes (Chiefs QB)
  • Madden19: Antonio Brown (Steelers WR)
  • Madden18: Tom Brady (Patriots QB)
  • Madden17: Rob Gronkowski (Patriots TE)
  • Madden16: Odell Beckham Jr. (Giants WR)
  • Madden15: Richard Sherman (Seahawks CB)
  • Madden25: Barry Sanders (Lions RB)
  • Madden13: Calvin Johnson (Lions WR)

As seen above, popularity tends to play a big part in who gets the cover, as well as winning Super Bowls. Only a select few above have never won a Super Bowl ring. Also, many of the individuals above seem to have defied the Madden curse in terms of their Pro Bowl or HOF careers.

Our Madden 23 cover star odds (unofficial)

So who could appear on the front of EA’s Madden 23 cover? We take into consideration last year’s odds for Madden 22, along with which players have enjoyed solid seasons. Notably, Derrick Henry and Kyler Murray seem to be popular choices, as well as Aaron Rodgers. While Henry suffered a season-ending injury, it’s hard to argue he’s a fan favorite, especially amongst Madden gamers.

  • Aaron Rodgers (Green Bay Packers, 11/2)
  • Kyler Murray (Arizona Cardinals, 7/1)
  • Derrick Henry (Tennessee Titans, 6/1)
  • Travis Kelce (Kansas City Chiefs, 15/2)
  • Aaron Donald (Los Angeles Rams, 15/2)
  • Tom Brady (Tampa Bay Buccaneers, 17/2)
  • Dalvin Cook (Minnesota Vikings, 9/1)
  • Davante Adams (Green Bay Packers, 9/1)
  • Josh Allen (Buffalo Bills, 10.5/1)
  • Patrick Mahomes (Kansas City Chiefs, 12/1)
  • Russell Wilson (Seattle Seahawks, 12/1)
  • DeAndre Hopkins (Arizona Cardinals, 13/1)
  • Stefon Diggs (Buffalo Bills, 13/1)

Other considerations include newer stars in the league such as the Patriots’ young QB Mac Jones, Indianapolis back Jonathan Taylor, and Cincinnati’s Joe Burrow or Ja’Marr Chase.

Keep in mind these are unofficial odds above, based on our opinion of who could land on the Madden 23 cover. A lot of it is based on which direction things go with the Super Bowl, and whether or not EA chooses to go with a popular player now, or an all-time legend!

We’d expect to see more official Madden 23 cover odds arrive sometime in early-to-mid 2022, possibly ahead of or near the NFL Draft.
