Michigan Wolverines Jump to No. 2 Following Huge Upset of Ohio State In Latest AP Top 25 – New Top 10 Revealed
The latest AP Top 25 college football poll arrived Sunday afternoon and after some huge upsets this weekend, we have a bit of a shake-up in the standings.
Michigan Leaps to No. 2
The Michigan Wolverines and Cincinnati Bearcats are each making their case for a postseason berth. With one more win, both schools should be headed to the CFP for the first time in their school’s history. However, let’s not put the cart before the horse.
The Wolverines jumped up to No. 2 in Sunday’s latest AP Top 25 release. Michigan was No. 6 in the country last week but moved up four sports after thrashing Ohio State 42-27.
Now the Wolverines are one win away from a trip to the college football playoffs. Before they start making postseason plans, the Wolverines still have some unfinished business to take care of in the form of the Iowa Hawkeyes. The Hawkeyes had a great season and have the talent to pull off the upset.
Michigan and Iowa will square off next Saturday, December 4, from Indianapolis in the Big Ten title game.
The Bearcats are in the same position.
No. 3 Cincinnati will host Houston in the American Championship Game. If the Bearcats come away victorious, it is going to be hard for the pollsters to keep them out of the postseason.
Fans won’t know the official CFP rankings until this upcoming Tuesday, November 30th. However, it is hard to imagine them being much different than the latest Top 25 AP Poll.
