Cooper Flagg Odds Arrive for Rookie Year Specials After NBA Draft
There was no major surprise when it came to the top pick at this year’s NBA Draft. Cooper Flagg odds suggested he’d be the No. 1 pick and he went at that spot. Dallas is the beneficiary of having that pic, and Flagg should give their roster a considerable boost. The team already features All-Star players Kyrie Irving and Anthony Davis, and could become a powerhouse contender in the Western Conference.
Expectations are high for the rookie in his first season, as he could make an immediate impact on the court. He averaged 19.2 points, 7.5 rebounds, 4.2 assists, 1.4 steals, and 1.4 blocks per game as a freshman with Duke.
The kid can play both ends of the court too, as he can defend and deliver rim-rattling dunks as part of the Mavs’ offense. Following Wednesday night’s confirmation that he is the No. 1 pick, books released betting odds for some special markets during Flagg’s rookie season.
Cooper Flagg odds are available for his NBA rookie season
Over at the FanDuel sportsbook, they wasted little time in posting some early NBA odds for bettors to take advantage of. While the NBA regular season won’t start until October 2025, the hype and excitement over the next potential star produced Cooper Flagg odds.
One of the specials is to bet on Flagg to record a triple-double at any time during his debut season. These odds are at -120, and all Flagg would need is 10 points along with 10 rebounds and 10 assists to acheive that. He could also get 10 blocks or 10 steals in lieu of any of those other stats to win the bet.
A bit riskier play is on Cooper Flagg To Score 40+ Points in Any Game in the 2025-26 Regular Season. At +300, this seems achievable, but one never knows with the potential for unfortunate injuries. Several of the No. 1 and No. 2 picks have dealt with them, including Zion Williamson and Chet Holmgren, in recent years.
There’s also a +1900 betting special for Flagg to score 50+ points in any game during his rookie season, or +2000 odds for him to tally 30+ points in his first-ever NBA game. Neither is unthinkable, but it’s rare for any rookie to go off like that.
Regarding the early NBA Rookie of the Year odds, Flagg is the top choice there. According to Yahoo! Sports’ Ben Fawkes, Flagg currently has -225 odds to win the award via BetMGM.
There are some other Cooper Flagg odds available at BetMGM. They currently allow bettors in select states to bet on Flagg to average over or under 16.9 points a game, and over or under 6.1 rebounds per game in 2025-26.
The Mavs didn’t jump much in the NBA Championship odds
The addition of Flagg didn’t impact the Mavericks’ chances to win the 2025-26 NBA Championship much. As of this writing, DraftKings lists Dallas at +4000, which is behind 12 other teams and tied with the Los Angeles Clippers.
Dallas will be dealing with the absence of Kyrie Irving due to injury for part of their season, so they’ll work through that. However, once he’s on the court, hopefully with a healthy AD and Flagg, this team could be a problem for opponents.
Meanwhile, it’s no surprise that the Oklahoma City Thunder are still at the top of the odds for next season at +225. After OKC captured a championship in 2025, it’s expected this team will remain good as they have all of their important players returning next season.
Second overall are the Houston Rockets at +750 after that big trade with Phoenix for Kevin Durant. They’re followed by the Cleveland Cavaliers and New York Knicks (+850), Minnesota Timberwolves (+1300), and Los Angeles Lakers (+1400).
Risk takers can pick and choose who they think will end up reaching the NBA Finals, although keep in mind that bet money isn’t available for quite a while!
