MLB Power Rankings Week 2: Yankees In Control, Tigers, Padres Rise Following Hot Start To 2020 Season
The MLB Power Rankings for Week 2 have arrived. After one full week of play, we have seen some heavy favorites deliver, and many underdogs show that they may have some serious bite!
Yankees red hot
It may just be one week, but so far, the Yankees have lived up to the hype. The Bombers hold a 6-1 record after the first seven games and have looked mighty impressive.
The best news for Yankees fans may be the hot start that Aaron Judge and Giancarlo Stanton are off to.
Judge has already hit 4 home runs in the team’s first 7 games, and Stanton is hitting a whopping .348 with two long balls to his credit. If New York keeps it up, they may run and hide from everyone else in the AL East.
Tigers have bite
When Las Vegas odds makers make you +12000 just to win your division, you know not many folks believe in you.
That is exactly what the Detroit Tigers were listed at on Opening Day. While one week doesn’t make a season, Detroit has shown that they are not interested in the critics’ opinions.
Detroit has won five of their first eight games and are keeping pace in the AL Central.
Last but far from least are the San Diego Padres. At 6-3, the Padres sit atop the NL West. They also lead the division in runs scored with 53.
