NBA Opening Night 2020 Schedule & Odds: Doubleheader Games to Feature Warriors, Lakers

The Los Angeles Lakers will be amongst the featured doubleheader for NBA Opening Night 2020, as LeBron and company look to begin their title defense. They’ll take on their in-city, same arena rivals, the Los Angeles Clippers. Ahead of that, fans will get to see how the Golden State Warriors and Brooklyn Nets look in their opening game of the season featuring several stars.

Warriors vs. Nets tips off NBA Opening Night 2020 schedule

Fans saw the NBA season paused months ago due to COVID-19, and then the league was able to safely resume play at a bubble site in Florida. Now a number of teams will get back on the court after a short time off. In the case of the Warriors, they were not involved in the bubble giving them plenty of time to assess a disappointing 2019-20 campaign.

However, they did get a lottery pick and took highly-touted big man James Wiseman in the NBA Draft. Stephen Curry looks to make his return for the season, while teammate Klay Thompson is sidelined for a second-straight season due to injury.

They’ll visit the Brooklyn Nets, a team featuring the superstar duo of Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving. It’s expected they’ll be playing this season and should make their debut as a pairing. Heading into the game the Nets are 7.5-point favorites at home or -325 on the moneyline. Bettors looking at the over/under will have to consider 231.5 points.

Viewers can catch the start to the doubleheader with Warriors vs. Nets beginning at 7 p.m. Eastern Time on TNT.

Lakers host Clippers in doubleheader nightcap

The two teams with the shortest layover between the close of the Finals and start of the NBA season are the Lakers and Miami Heat. LeBron’s Lakers are in action on NBA Opening Night 2020 with Kawhi Leonard. Paul George and the Clippers first on the schedule.

The Clips lost Montrezl Harrell to the Lakers, as he looks to bolster an already impressive roster committed to getting a second-straight title. Of course, the Lakeshow also locked up their two top players in LeBron and Anthony Davis.

A recent ESPN report mentions more money has been bet on the Lakers to win the title this year than all other NBA teams combined. They’ve received 60 percent of all bets for future odds to win the NBA title. Barring injuries, this is clearly the team to beat in the championship chase.

As far as tonight’s odds go, it’s a closer matchup than the first game, with oddsmakers giving the Lakers three points in their favor. On the moneyline the Clippers are +140, while the Lakers are -160. Tonight’s over/under is 219.5 points for the completed game.

Game time is set for approximately 10 p.m. Eastern Time (7 p.m. Pacific) on TNT. Live stream options include Hulu with Live TV, YouTube TV, Sling TV and more, with some offering trial offers to new subscribers.
