Presidential Election Odds 2024: Donald Trump Surges Ahead of Joe Biden, Democratic Field Following Russia Invasion Of Ukraine

The 2024 Presidential Election odds have done a complete 180 since Joe Biden was sworn in just over one year ago. While the list of possible candidates continues to grow, the current favorite to win the 2024 election is a former resident of the White House.

A Trump return?

Donald Trump shocked the world when he won the 2016 election. Now oddsmakers have Trump favored to do something only one US President has ever done before – become President for the second time following a four-year hiatus.

Grover Cleveland was the 22nd and 24th President of the United States. Cleveland won the 1885 election. Four years later he lost the 1889 campaign to Benjamin Harrison. However, Cleveland stayed the course and reclaimed the White House once again in 1893.

Could we be staring at that same scenario over 100 years later with a Trump return? A year ago most oddsmakers would have said no to a realistic return for Donald Trump. As of March 7, that is no longer the case.

After winning in 2016, Trump lost to Joe Biden in 2020. When most one-term Presidents lose, they usually fade into the woodwork of the political scene. This doesn’t look to be the case with Trump.

One reason oddsmakers believe Trump would be favored against Biden is inflation – and front and center is the price of gas. Trump warned his followers that gas would go through the roof if he lost. Unfortunately, Trump’s prediction on this subject has been correct.

Is that enough to make 45 the favorite in 2024? At this point, it seems so. According to Covers, if the election was this year, Trump would be heavily favored to win the White House.

Covers indicated that shortly after the 2020 inauguration, Vice President Kamala Harris was atop the 2024 Presidential odds board at +350, with Biden close behind at +400. At that time former President Trump was a distant third at +650.

Those odds have shifted massively as Trump is now leading the field as the 2024 U.S. Presidential election favorite at +300. Biden is second at +450 while Harris has dropped all the way to fourth place at +800 with Florida Governor Ron DeSantis jumping into third.

Presidential Election Odds 2024

Remember, the 2024 election is two years away. However, the buildup for the election will begin as soon as the calendar flips from 2022 to 2023.

You have to take these odds with a grain of salt. I mean come on, Bruce Springsteen and The Rock are actually on this list. Spoiler alert – neither one will be in the Oval Office in 2024. Well, unless they are visiting the winner of the election!

Actually, after Donald Trump shocked the world in 2016, you can never say never to any candidate. If you believe Springsteen or Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson can win, bet them now! You will get some great odds!

Here are the latest odds to win the 2024 election as of March 7, 2022.
