Super Bowl 2022 Odds: Rams Surge Towards Top Following Matt Stafford Trade
What a difference a day or two can make. Just 48 hours ago, the Los Angeles Rams’ odds to win Super Bowl 56 was +2000 or higher. That has now changed.
Rams jump following Stafford trade
In his 12 years as the Lions’ starting quarterback, Matthew Stafford has never won a single playoff game. Yet following his trade to the LA Rams, Vegas oddsmakers believe Stafford is ready to make a run at a championship? It sure looks that way.
The Rams have jumped from the No. 12 slot up to No.3 in terms of Super Bowl favorites. LA is tied with the 2021 NFC Champion Tampa Bay Buccaneers at +1100 to win the 2022 Super Bowl.
According to Sports Betting Dime, the only two teams ahead of Los Angeles are the Kansas City Chiefs at +575 and the Green Bay Packers at +900. Yes, Stafford will have many weapons to work with in Los Angeles, however, that jump in odds seems like a bit much.
LA ready to follow Buccaneers?
Whether you believe in the Rams with Matt Stafford behind center is one thing, but LA may have a bit of extra incentive in 2022. Why? Super Bowl 56 will take place in Los Angeles – and don’t think the Rams aren’t aware of this.
