Tom Brady Retires: Buccaneers QB Calls It A Career After 22 seasons, Seven Super Bowl Titles
Tom Brady is retiring from football. Say it ain’t so! According to multiple outlets, Brady is retiring after 22 seasons in which he won a historic seven Super Bowl championships, captured five Super Bowl MVP awards, and was the league MVP three times.

Although many Tampa Bay fans were hoping that Tom Brady would walk away from the game a champion, it seems that it was not meant to be. Brady is widely considered the greatest quarterback in NFL history, however, it was just assumed that TB12 would be back next season following the Bucs loss to the LA Rams in the NFC Divisional playoffs last weekend.
ESPN indicated that while millions of fans wanted Brady to go out like Brees, Manning, and others before him with a farewell season, that is not what he wanted.
Brady, 44, has been adamant for weeks that he never wanted a “farewell season,” and many who know him believed he desired a decision made without much drama leading up to it. He will shift focus to new endeavors and believes this is the right moment to end his playing career, sources said.
Brady’s decision to retire is based on several factors, including family and health. While less significant, Brady also recognizes that the Buccaneers are likely to undergo significant roster turnover, sources said.
Possible return in 2024?
With the news of Brady retiring still very fresh and still not YET official – as in Brady announcing it himself in a press conference, some fans are hoping that former Cowboys QB and current CBS announcer Tony Romo may be on to something.
