Detroit Tigers Favored To Land Alex Bregman, Justin Verlander Reunion On Horizon?
The Detroit Tigers were one of the hottest teams in the second half of the 2024 season. Now, they are looking to build on their incredibly youthful squad by signing a few veterans – including one of the biggest names on the market.
According to several MLB outlets, including MLB Insider Jon Heyman, the Tigers, and Alex Bregman rumors may have some serious merit. Truthfully, it wouldn’t surprise me if the star 3rd baseman signs with the Tigers. That is if Detroit seriously pursues him.
With Bregman’s former skipper AJ Hinch now in charge in Motown and young rising stars Riley Greene, Kerry Carpenter, Parker Meadows, Spencer Torkleson, and Tarik Skubal, Alex Bregman could be a key piece to the puzzle that could help lead Detroit to a World Series title.
The Tigers need a third baseman and Bregman is one of the best in the game. It seems like the perfect match, right? Most Tigers fans think so – and so do Las Vegas odds makers.
The Houston Press reports that the Tigers are the current favorite to sign Bregman at +175. Tigers’ fans are hoping that turns out to be a winning bet!
Another player favored to land with the Tigers is a very familiar name to Detroiters. That would be one Justin Verlander.
Is it possible that Verlander would return to the team that drafted him back in 2004?

JV was very successful in Detroit and was a fan favorite. Verlander also won a World Series title in Houston – with Tigers current manager AJ Hinch. You see where this is going?
While many believe that Verlander’s best days are behind him, Detroit should definitely take a chance on him. He will be motivated, and he can be a great mentor to a very young staff. On top of that, he won’t break the bank.
