Preakness Stakes Results 2023: Odds, Post Positions, Payouts; Can Mage Continue Triple Crown Bid At Pimlico?
The 2023 Preakness Stakes results will reveal more than just the winner of the annual Grade 1 Stake race in Baltimore this afternoon. It will determine if the upcoming June running of the Belmont Stakes will have that bit of extra buzz in the air with a possible Triple Crown on the line!
All eyes on Mage
While all eyes will be on the Kentucky Derby winner Mage, the field for this upcoming race will be quite different than the one we saw at the Run for the Roses.
The field set to hit the track at Pimlico will feature just eight horses – and just one from the Kentucky Derby. Yes, just one Derby horse is making its way north for the Preakness this afternoon. That horse would be Mage, of course.
According to CBS Sports, Mage is currently the betting favorite to win the Preakness with morning-line odds of 8-5.
While Mage is listed as the horse to beat following his big win in Louisville, there are two other horses that odds makers could steal Mage’s bid for a possible Triple Crown run this June.
The current ML odds have Bob Baffert’s National Treasure and Brad Cox’s First Mission both set at 4/1 odds.
