They’re followed by a few familiar heavyweights, one of whom has yet to play a game so far from their schedule, and another known for winning titles consistently.

On Saturday, Trevor Lawrence had another strong performance with 292 yards and three touchdowns on his 29-of-41 completions. Along with a strong ground game thanks to Travis Etienne (149 yards, 2 TDs), Clemson easily took down the Miami Hurricanes, 42-17.

That moved the Tigers to a perfect 4-0 overall and 3-0 conference record for the season. It also kept them at the top of the College Football National Championship 2020 odds at +175 or 7-4. They’re trailed by the Big Ten’s Ohio State Buckeyes (+250), who aren’t scheduled to play their first game until October 24.

Ohio State’s Justin Fields is second on that list, but as mentioned his team has yet to take the field yet for a game. Alabama has three contenders on the list including QB Mac Jones, running back Najee Harris, and wide receiver Jaylen Waddle.

Of the players above, Jones had 417 yards passing with two touchdowns for Alabama this weekend, while Harris rushed 23 times for 206 yards and five TDs.

Florida was on the losing side of things this weekend, suffering a 41-38 loss at the hands of the Texas A&M Aggies. Kyle Trask is still amongst Heisman candidates and finished that game with 312 yards and four touchdowns on his 23-of-32 completed passes.
