Le’Veon Bell Signs With Kansas City Chiefs

Where will running back Le’Veon Bell land in 2020? The once upon a time Steelers star has struggled since he left the Steel City to play for the New York Jets.

Now, following Bell’s release from New York, the NFL rumor mill has the former Michigan State Spartans standout linked to three different teams. However, if, when, and where he will play is still anyone’s guess.

Le’Veon Bell staying in AFC?

On Thursday, ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler reported that Le’Veon Bell had narrowed his choice down to three teams – the Bills, Chiefs, and Dolphins.

Just hours after that tweet arrived, it seems that Bell’s choice has been cut down from a three-team race to a two-team coin flip. According to The Athletic, Bell has reportedly narrowed his choices to the Miami Dolphins or the Kansas City Chiefs.

Not bad choices if either is willing to take on chance on him. Not only could Bell boost each team’s running game, but he would also have a chance to face his former team this season.

Bell will face former team one way or the other

If Le’Veon inks a deal with K.C. or Buffalo one thing is certain – he will quickly get his shot at his former team, the New York Jets.

The Dolphins play the Jets this weekend on Sunday, Oct. 18. While the turnaround would be too quick for Bell to play this weekend due to the newly implicated COVID-19 protocol, the Jets will face the Dolphins once again in Week 12.

If Bell happened to sign with Kansas City, he would square off against his former team in Week 8 of the season.

In two games with New York this season, Bell had 22 official touches for 113 total yards.

UPDATE — Bell Signs with Chiefs

Just as this post went live, news has broken that Le’Veon Bell has signed with the Kansas City Chiefs. This move will definitely help the Chiefs running game.

In 17 games with the Jets, the 28-year-old Bell rushed for 863 yards and three touchdowns. Bell had signed a four-year, $52.5 million contract last year with the Jets.
