New Year’s Eve Bowl Schedule 2022: College Football Playoff Odds, TV Start Times, ATS Picks For Each Game Including Fiesta, Sugar Bowl
New Year’s Eve is once again upon us and for pigskin fans like us, that means one thing, wall-to-wall college football! All of the action is scheduled to kick-off at Noon ET and conclude with two CFP games that are sure to be must-see TV action!
New Year’s Eve Bowl Schedule packed with Big Ten strength
While many NCAA football experts believe that the SEC is the best conference in the game today, the Big Ten is making its case and saying “not so fast, my friend!”
Four games are on the bowl schedule this New Year’s Eve and the Big Ten has a team in three of them.
The Iowa Hawkeyes get the day started when they take on the Kentucky Wildcats in the Music City Bowl. Iowa has one of the weakest offenses in college football, however, they do have a stout defense. In fact, it is their defense that got them this far. While the offense ranks near the bottom in most categories, the Hawkeyes’ defense is the polar opposite.
The Hawkeyes will need their D to show up big time vs UK as they will be without their top two QBs. According to CBS Sports, third-stringer Joe Labas will draw the start for the Hawkeyes after starter Spencer Petras underwent shoulder surgery and backup Alex Padilla entered the transfer portal.
The other Noon contest will feature Alabama taking on Kansas State in the Sugar Bowl.
CFP Final Four
While the two early games should not disappoint, the main course begins at 4 p.m. with the first of two CFP games.
Game 1 will take place in the desert when TCU takes on Michigan in the Fiesta Bowl. The Wolverines were in this spot last season but couldn’t get the job done in the semifinals against the high-powered eventual National Champion Georgia Bulldogs.
Game 2 will feature those defending champions and current No. 1 ranked Dogs taking on Ohio State. The Buckeyes backed into the playoffs despite being thrashed by Michigan in the final game of the season. But as they say in sports, it doesn’t matter how you get to the dance, just get there!
Once you are in, anything can happen. Below is a look at today’s schedule, current Vegas odds, and my picks ATS.
