NFL Playoff Picture Week 13: Updated Matchups, Super Bowl 2022 Odds
The NFL playoff picture is heating up! It is hard to believe but the NFL season is approaching Week 13. With December right around the corner, every game is becoming more important than the last. With a huge log-jam in both conferences, here is where each team in the race stands right now.
NFL Playoff Picture changing by the week
Ah, Week 1. Remember that? The LA Rams were Super Bowl-bound after winning their first game behind new QB Matt Stafford while the Green Bay Packers got destroyed by the Saints 38-3 and Aaron Rodgers was being accused of not caring about his team and ready to leave at any second.
NFL Week 12 Picks were perfect!
Fast-forward to today and things are very different. The Rams are in danger of missing the postseason completely if they continue to swoon and the Packers are looking like the best team in the league.
The once 6-1 Rams are now 7-4. While they are definitely still in the postseason race, injuries to key players, including Robert Woods, have changed the complexion in La-La Land. Matt Stafford has struggled mightily during Los Angeles’ current three-game losing streak. Once again his old elbow and back injuries are starting to become an issue, which isn’t good news for Rams fans.
On the other hand, the big news over the past summer that Aaron Rodgers and his head coach Matt LaFleur could not coexist seems to be ancient history. The 9-3 Packers are surging and seeming to get better by the week. Green Bay currently holds the No. 2 seed in the NFC one game behind the red-hot Arizona Cardinals.
Matchups, Seeds, Super Bowl Odds
As of this report, the NFC seems to be a bit stronger than the AFC, and it reflects in the updated Super Bowl odds. Currently, three of the top four favorites to win Super Bowl 56 are from the NFC.
Tampa Bay is favored to repeat as champs at +550. Right behind the Bucs are the Chiefs at +700. Kansas City is followed by the Arizona Cardinals and Green Bay Packers both at +750.
Both Arizona and Green Bay have moved up the odds board dramatically since September while early favorites Buffalo, Dallas, and the LA Rams have dropped. With six weekends remaining in the regular season anything can happen. However, for many teams time is running out.
