NFL Week 6 Schedule 2020: Odds, Best Bet Picks, and TV Times
Time is flying by and it’s already NFL Week 6 for the 2020 schedule! We still have a number of undefeated and winless teams as of this week’s action too. That may change based on some tough matchups from the latest slate including a battle between Aaron Rodgers and Tom Brady in Tampa Bay, as well as the infamous Browns-Steelers rivalry. Let’s check out what’s going on with the latest NFL games along with odds, schedule details, and our picks!
Patriots game up in air again for Week 6?
One of the big questions heading into the NFL Week 6 schedule for 2020 seems to involve the New England Patriots. The team looked to be on track to finally play their game against the Denver Broncos from Week 5, which was postponed to this Sunday. It even appeared that quarterback Cam Newton would be on the field after he previously tested positive for COVID-19.
However, an ESPN report on Friday (October 16) indicated that yet another Patriots player has tested positive for coronavirus. This time it is reserve offensive linemen James Ferentz and seems like it won’t prevent the game from taking place. Even so, the team called off practice as a cautionary measure based on the news.
The game against Denver was originally postponed when starting defensive tackle Byron Cowart tested positive for COVID-19 two days before the game. It currently appears the Broncos vs. Pats game will go forth as planned, but we’ve seen games get postponed, so stay tuned. It’s currently scheduled for 1 p.m. ET on CBS with the Pats as nine-point favorites.
Browns-Steelers, Packers-Bucs highlight Week 6 schedule
Some intriguing battles are on the NFL Week 6 schedule. That includes Baker Mayfield and the Cleveland Browns taking on Ben Roethlisberger and the Pittsburgh Steelers. As of this report, the undefeated Steelers are favored by a field goal or 3.5 points at most books.
In a game later that afternoon, it’s Aaron Rodgers trying to keep his Green Bay Packers undefeated. However, they’ll be taking on a Tom Brady-led Tampa Bay team that suffered a one-point loss to the Chicago Bears in their previous game. The Bucs are back home, and Brady may be looking to bounce back. Still, odds makers have Green Bay favored, albeit by a point.
Sunday, Oct. 18 games:
- Denver at New England (-9) 1 p.m., CBS
- Chicago at Carolina (-1.5) 1 p.m. ET, FOX
- Detroit (-3) at Jacksonville 1 p.m. ET, FOX
- Atlanta at Minnesota (-4) 1 p.m. ET, FOX
- Houston at Tennessee (-3.5) 1 p.m. ET, CBS
- Washington at NY Giants (-3) 1 p.m. ET, FOX
- Cleveland at Pittsburgh (-3.5) 1 p.m. ET, CBS
- Baltimore (-9) at Philadelphia 1 p.m. ET, CBS
- Cincinnati at Indianapolis (-7.5) 1 p.m. ET, FOX
- NY Jets at Miami (-9.5) 4:05 p.m. ET, CBS
- Green Bay (-1) at Tampa Bay 4:25 p.m. ET, FOX
- LA Rams (-3) at 49ers 8:20 p.m. ET, NBC
Sunday night’s matchup brings the Los Angeles Rams on a short trip to face the struggling San Francisco 49ers. The Rams can probably feel the 49ers’ pain with what appears to be a Super Bowl slump after making it to the title game, only to miss the playoffs the next season. As of right now, though, we don’t expect the Rams to cut San Fran any slack.
Monday night games and our best bet picks
Monday, Oct. 19 games:
- Kansas City (-4.5) at Buffalo 5 p.m. ET, FOX/NFL
- Arizona (-1) at Dallas 8:15 p.m. ET, ESPN
As seen above, fans will get two games on Monday evening, as the Buffalo Bills and Kansas City Chiefs will kick off three hours ahead of the regularly-scheduled MNF matchup. Mahomes and company will be looking to bounce back after their first loss of the new season in a continued defense of their Super Bowl title. The Chiefs just signed veteran running back Le’Veon Bell to add to their roster ahead of this game.
The Week 6 action closes with Dallas trying for a second-straight win under new starter Andy Dalton after losing Dak Prescott to that tough Week 5 injury. Despite Dallas being 3-point favorites, they’ll be hosting rising star Kyler Murray and the Arizona Cardinals in the MNF matchup.
And here’s our best bet picks for Week 6:
New York Giants, Pittsburgh Steelers, Dallas Cowboys
