Tom Brady Now Heavy Favorite To Claim 2021 NFL MVP Award Over Aaron Rodgers, Patrick Mahomes – Updated Odds

Tom Brady just does not age. Just ask the Buffalo Bills. On the heels of another Brady-like performance Sunday, TB 12 has become the clear-cut favorite to win the 2021-22 NFL Most Valuable Player Award.

Tom Brady, Bucs defeat Bills in OT

It has been said many times before but it is worth saying again – Tom Brady is the GOAT. Should the NFL just name Brady the MVP now? In our opinion, yes.

It is looking more and more like the Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback will most likely win the 2021-22 MVP award. If he does claim the crown, it will be Brady’s 4th of his career. Brady also captured the league MVP back in 2007, 2010, and in 2017.

In what NFL experts are calling Tampa’s last “big test” of the regular season schedule, Brady and the Bucs defeated the Buffalo Bills 33-27 in OT. While Brady started hot, he did struggle a bit in the second half. Nevertheless, Brady finished with a stat line of 363 yards and a pair of TDs while also scoring one on the ground.

Now sitting with a record of 10-3, Tampa has four very winnable games ahead of them. However, Brady and the Bucs know that games aren’t won on paper. Don’t expect the Bucs to take their foot off the gas as they are still competing for that elusive home-field advantage in the NFC playoffs.

With the remaining schedule looking this way, Bucs fans are very optimistic that they will run its current 4-game winning streak to 8.

Week 15: vs. the New Orleans Saints (Sunday Night)

Week 17: @ New York Jets
Week 18: vs. Carolina Panthers

The big shift in MVP odds

If you know how sports odds work, you know this latest move is big.

NBC Sports reports that Brady went from +175 a week ago (bet $100 to win $175) to -170 now (bet $170 to win $100). That is a big move. Behind Brady is Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers (+550), and Cardinals quarterback Kyler Murray (+900). Rounding out the top five are Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes at +1200 and LA Chargers quarterback Justin Herbert at +1500.

If Tampa wins out, Tom Brady will most likely walk away with his fourth MVP Award. While we like Brady in this prop bet, the only one we believe who could swipe it away is Aaron Rodgers. If Tampa slips up and suffers a loss or two down the stretch, Rodgers and the red-hot Pack could make this a race to the very end.
