UCLA leads the way
In terms of NCAA basketball championships, UCLA is No. 1. The Bruins have cut down the nets 11 different times in their historical career. However, they have not won a title since 1995.
Right behind the Bruins is Kentucky with 8 national championships. The Wildcats, who were a top 10 Las Vegas odds favorite to win the title this season were upset in round one of the NCAA Tournament when they fell to St. Peter’s.
In third and fourth place overall are two teams that will battle it out in the Final Four this weekend. The war on the floor between North Carolina and Duke will have one more meaningful clash before Duke’s legendary coach Mike Krzyzewski calls it a career.
One of these two will be playing for a title on April 4. The Tarheels will be attempting to win their 7th title in school history, while Duke will be attempting to capture No. 6.
It would be a perfect ending for Coach K, who would ride off into the sunset as a champion.
Kansas and Villanova make up the other matchup in the upcoming 2022 Final Four. Both of these great programs have three championships.
