NFL Week 2 Schedule – Lions vs Bills Kickoff Week

Week 2 starts with a BANG. Detroit heads to Buffalo in what could be one of the highest-scoring games of the week. The 53.5 total tells you exactly what Vegas expects from these two offenses.

If you’re a fan of football, you already know that the Detroit Lions have some of the best talent on offense in the game – and so do the Buffalo Bills! Both teams had moments in Week 1 where they looked great, and moments where they looked a bit tired, lost, and frustrated.

Don’t let that fool you. Unlike the other three major sports, NFL teams don’t play the starters much in the preseason. And that showed up across the NFL last weekend.

While the Lions and Bills both won their opening games, look for both teams to be a bit sharper in Week 2 – especially the Lions, who let a 21-point lead slip away before defeating the Saints in overtime.

This game could, and should, come down to which team has the ball last. I expect a barnburner up in Buffalo on Thursday. One thing to keep in mind here. Buffalo will be playing in their brand new field, Highmark Stadium. A new stadium, TNF, and a team that has been one of the best in the AFC for the past 5 seasons could be an issue for the Lions on Thursday.

However, here’s a positive for the Lions when it comes to the crowd noise. Buffalo’s new home holds a capacity of 60,108, – which is 10,000 fewer than its previous home. Still, I think the fans will be so pumped that they will be plenty loud on Thursday, fewer fans or not!

I see this contest coming down to a one-score game – and I like the Lions plus the points.

Pick – Lions +5.5
