All Rise! The Judge is entering the room! New York Yankees superstar outfielder Aaron Judge, who last appeared in a game on May 31, is set to make his long-awaited return to the Yankees lineup Tuesday against the Colorado Rockies.
And boy, could the Yankees use him.
Judge has been sidelined for more than three months after suffering a fractured rib in late April. He last played on May 31 before landing on the injured list, leaving New York without the biggest bat in its lineup for a huge chunk of the season.
Despite his absence, the Yankees have managed to put together an 81-62 record and remain right in the thick of the AL East race. New York enters Tuesday just four games behind the Tampa Bay Rays for the division lead.
But make no mistake — getting Aaron Judge back changes everything.
Before the injury, Judge was putting together another monster season. In 53 games, the Yankees captain was hitting .248/.375/.533 with a .908 OPS, while scoring 43 runs, driving in 38 and launching 17 home runs. He also stole five bases.
And here’s the crazy part — that .908 OPS still leads every Yankees hitter.

The Yankees are getting their captain back with the postseason approaching, and there isn’t much time left for Judge to shake off the rust.
Judge has been taking live at-bats and baseball activities in preparation for his return, and the Yankees have decided not to send him on a minor-league rehab assignment.
Instead, it’s straight back to the Bronx. Aaron Judge. Yankee Stadium. Tuesday night. Like we have said all season here at Sports Odds Digest, if this Yankees team is healthy come October, they can win it all.
