Aaron Rodgers Rumors: Buccaneers Join Broncos As Vegas Odds Favorites Following Tom Brady Retirement
Let’s get one thing straight – Aaron Rodgers isn’t leaving Green Bay unless it is to play for a solid team that has Super Bowl aspirations. But let’s get another thing straight. The Packers most likely can’t resign all of their free agents this offseason so Rodgers is more than likely not returning to the Pack in 2022.
Now the big question is where will Rodgers play next fall and what will Green Bay get in return for him? As we mentioned earlier this month, Rodgers is under contract for the upcoming season. However, Green Bay management has made it clear that they are ready to move on from Rodgers if he decides he wants out of Titletown.
Aaron Rodgers ready to follow?
Aaron Rodgers may have already tipped off everyone on where he will play in 2022. That is if you are reading into a comment he made last season. According to a Yahoo Sports report, Rodgers was quoted by Packers beat writer Mark Schneidman on his feelings if his then OC decided to leave for a new team if he got a head coaching opportunity.
“I hope he doesn’t go anywhere. Unless I do.”
Sure, the comment was made at a time when things weren’t as tense, and reportedly made with a smirk as well, but Rodgers and Hackett have a great relationship – and Hackett’s new team, the Denver Broncos, are in need of a quality quarterback.
Is this the start of a “Peyton Manning Part II” type situation in the Mile High City? Vegas oddsmakers believe so.
Heading south for the winter?
Tom Brady is calling it a career. Or at least we think he is. Numerous outlets reported on Saturday that Brady is hanging up his spikes after 22 seasons. Other reports are now indicating that Brady has yet to make any decision about his future.
Nevertheless, if Brady is out of the picture in Tampa, the Bucs are a clear No. 2 landing spot for Rodgers. With all the weapons Rodgers could possibly have on offense and a stout defense, the Bucs would remain an NFC favorite next season.
Rodgers to Gronk for the touchdown? Sounds a bit odd now, but if Tom Brady is walking off into the sunset, the Bucs may try to strike a deal to make it happen.
