Nathan’s Hot Dog Eating Contest is back! After a two-year absence due to the pandemic, the annual Fourth of July event returns to Coney Island, and fans couldn’t be happier!

When it comes to eating hot dogs, no one does it better than Joey Chestnut. Chestnut, who has claimed 14 of the past 15 titles is once again the heavy favorite to win this afternoon. Chestnut set a world record in 2021 when he ate 76 franks. I don’t think I have eaten that many in my life!

It’s not just the men who love to get down and dirty. The ladies are set to stake their claim too. Miki Sudo, who has won the women’s event seven of the past eight years, is ready to reclaim her dominance this year.

Sudo returns to the action after sitting out last year’s contest due to being pregnant with her first child. Just because Sudo is a beast in the eating world, 2021 champ Michelle Lesco won’t go down without a fight.

Despite missing the contest last year, Sudo is a huge favorite to reclaim the crown. Sudo is listed as much as -5000, with the field being listed at as high as +1500. The Over/Under prop wager for total hot dogs consumed on Sudo is set at 49.5.

If you think anyone can beat the great Joey Chestnut, you should put your money where your mouth is – because it could pay off big! Chestnut is listed as a -3000 favorite in the men’s competition at Caesars Sportsbook, while the field is +1100. The Over/Under for total hot dogs eaten is 74.5.

NBC New York is reporting that all of the coverage for the women’s championship kicks off at 10:45 a.m. ET, followed by the men’s championship at noon ET. The Nathan’s Hot Dog Eating Contest will air live on ESPN3 with the women’s contest, while on-air coverage for the men will begin on ESPNews at 12 p.m. ET.
