NFL Week 1 Schedule 2025: Odds For Each Game, Best Bets, TV Start Times

Football is back, and Week 1 of the 2025 NFL schedule brings no shortage of storylines, key matchups and a lot of betting value! Between rivalry clashes, new-look rosters, and prime-time matchups, there are several must-see TV games taking center stage.

All of the NFL 2025 action will officially begin when the defending Super Bowl champion Philadelphia Eagles host the Dallas Cowboys this evening and the first week of action will conclude Monday night when the Vikings face the Bears from Chicago.

While the run toward Super Bowl 2026 begins this evening, remember one thing – the season is a marathon, not a sprint! The goal is to profit every week. So let’s get right to it!

Here are my three best bets for the opening week of the 2025 NFL season.

1. Detroit Lions at Green Bay Packers (Sunday, 4:25 p.m. ET)

The NFC North rivalry gets an early-season spotlight, and while many believe the Packers’ blockbuster move for Micah Parsons makes them a Super Bowl contender, I’m not sold. Jared Goff and the Lions’ offense return intact, and Dan Campbell’s group thrives in physical games like this. Lambeau Field is never an easy place for the visitors, but Detroit’s continuity in the trenches should give them the edge. The Lions have won 6 of their last 7 vs Green Bay – including their last two in Lambeau. Take the points with the Lions to keep this one tight—or even steal the outright win.

Pick – Lions +3

2. Houston Texans at Los Angeles Rams (Sunday, 4:25 p.m. ET)

Houston’s defense may be one of the most talented in football, but Week 1 could be a different story. C.J. Stroud and the Texans’ offense still face growing pains against top-tier opponents, and Sean McVay has quietly built a more balanced Rams roster. Matthew Stafford’s back issues linger, but Los Angeles has leaned on the run game and play-action to mask that in the past. The Texans are going to be a tough out all season, but in Week 1 on the road, the Rams’ experience gives them the betting edge.

Rams -2.5

3. Baltimore Ravens at Buffalo Bills (Sunday, 8:20 p.m. ET)

This could be the game of the week. Once again QB Lamar Jackson and the Baltimore Ravens enter 2025 with high hopes. Tabbed as one the front runners to win the 2026 Super Bowl, Baltimore will once again be one of the hunted in the AFC.

That being said, don’t sleep on Buffalo. The Bills remain dangerous. With QB Josh Allen leading the way, Buffalo should once again win the AFC East and host a home game (if not more than one) this postseason. I’m not posting stats, breakdowns or claim I have an inside scoop. I don’t. This game could and should be full of fireworks.

This pick is all gut-related. Buffalo is being a bit overlooked here. I’ll take them as a home dog, thank you very much!

Pick – Bills +1.5

Best of the rest – Tampa Bay -1.5, NYG +6.5
