Super Bowl Prediction 2023: Kansas City Chiefs vs Philadelphia Eagles Battle For 57th Vince Lombardi Trophy
It is Super Bowl prediction time! With just over three days and counting until Super Bowl 57 gets underway from Arizona, we here at Sports Odds Digest will be looking to extend our Super Bowl win streak to four straight.
Last season we were spot on with taking the Bengals plus the points vs. the Rams. The season before we predicted the underdog Tom Brady led Tampa Bay Buccaneers would walk away with the title.
And three years ago, we were on Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs when they stormed back to beat the San Francisco 49ers. Now, let’s make it four in a row!
How they got here
Well, it is hard to debate that the Chiefs and Eagles aren’t the best teams in the NFL right now. Both squads were the No. 1 seed in their respective conference, both are loaded with talent, and most importantly, both squads have quarterbacks that are game changers.
Patrick Mahomes has been the starting QB for the Chiefs for five seasons. In Mahomes’ five seasons at the helm, Kansas City has been to the Super Bowl three times and been the No. 1 seed in the AFC five consecutive times. If that isn’t impressive, I don’t know what is!
Mahomes tossed 41 touchdowns this season and passed for 5,250 yards, all while leading Kansas City to a 14-3 record. Mahomes is the straw that stirs the drink for the Chiefs.
The same can be said for Philadelphia’s Jalen Hurts.
Hurts’ numbers aren’t as gaudy as his counterpart, however, he is the X-factor for the Eagles’ offense. Hurts tossed 22 touchdowns to just six interceptions in 2022. He also rushed for 760 yards and scored 13 TDs. His mobility will be a huge challenge for the Chiefs’ defense in Super Bowl 57 as he has the capability to rush for 15-20 yards on any given play.
The Chiefs beat the Jags and Bengals to punch their ticket to the big game while the Eagles ran over the Giants and 49ers to qualify for their second Super Bowl appearance in the past five years.
Super Bowl prediction
Throw out all the stats in this game, period! There is a reason that the spread on this game is just 1-point – these teams are both that good!
The Chiefs opened their season in Arizona back on September 11 with a huge win over the Cardinals 44-21. We believe the Chiefs will finish the season with a win in the state of Arizona – this time with a victory over the Eagles.
It will be an instant classic, but the Chiefs walk away with the win, and the Vince Lombardi Trophy!
Pick – Kansas CIty Chiefs +1.5
