Two For Tuesday: NCAA Picks for Michigan State vs. Purdue, Providence vs. UCONN
Last week was our first edition of “Two for Tuesday.” It was a smashing success! Our selections of the Detroit Pistons and Utah Jazz finished a perfect 2-0 ATS.
Add that to our Super Bowl 55 prediction of the Buccaneers over the Chiefs, and we are on a bit of a roll. However, as any gambler knows, you don’t look back, you look ahead. After all, you are only as good as your last selections – so let’s keep it going with this week’s Two for Tuesday picks!
Michigan State vs Purdue (-5, 136.5 O/U)
Michigan State looked awful against Iowa last Saturday. Wait, that’s wrong. They looked like a team that didn’t know how to play the game of basketball. Yes, it was that bad.
I don’t remember a Tom Izzo-led team looking so off-key, mediocre and losing at home by 30-points! The 88-58 loss to Iowa in East Lansing was a shocker, however things are not going to get easier for MSU.
Tonight the Spartans face Purdue – a team that has already beaten then this season. While they won’t lose by 30, they won’t be victorious.
Pick – Purdue -5
Providence vs. UCONN (-5, 130 O/U)
This is a matchup of two teams starting to play well. Providence (11-10, 7-8) will be aiming for their third straight win and second over UCONN in less than a week.
Following their 70-59 win over the Huskies last Wednesday, the Friars defeated DePaul 57-47. The Huskies are 2-2 in their last four outings and have managed to look great at times and very sloppy as well.
We think UCONN will get the home victory, however, the strong play here is OVER 130. While both teams have struggled a bit to score of late, they are both averaging 70 PPG this season.
UCONN gets revenge for their recent loss, and this game goes over the number.
Pick – OVER 130
