According to America’s Best Racing, Saturday, May 7 marks the full return of “the most exciting two minutes in sports” to its rightful spot as one of the most sought-after entertainment events in the world as, for the first time since 2019 the 148th Kentucky Derby Presented by Woodford Reserve will be held with no attendance restrictions at Churchill Downs.
While the weather forecast looks a bit suspect, the 2022 Kentucky Derby is expected to draw more than 150,000 fans. Hopefully, the race will live up to the hype!
Kentucky Derby ML Odds, Field
As usual, the derby field is big, and for many horses the odds are long. Nevertheless, the action should once again be thrilling. As of this report, there are 20 horses scheduled to run at Churchill Downs on Saturday. The early favorites include Zandon 3-1, Epicenter 7-2, and Messier at 8-1.
One longshot we are keeping our eye on is Tiz the Bomb at 30-1. This horse is definitely worth a few bucks across the board, especially at those odds.
